Overview

In this role, youll be responsible for leading control system migration initiatives, specifically transitioning APACS to Siemens PCS 7, and managing process control, factory automation, instrumentation, and IT/OT systems within the chemical, pharmaceutical, polymer, and food & beverage industries. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in Siemens PCS 7 and process control systems and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Plan and execute transitions of APACS control systems to Siemens PCS 7, including scope development, budgeting, FAT, commissioning, and startup.
  •  Lead largescale migrations from PCS 7 & APACS to DeltaV SIS/PCS, integrating new hardware, software, and I/O while minimizing downtime.
  •  Implement systemwide upgrades from PCS 7 & Wonderware to DeltaV in both continuous and batch environments.
  •  Conduct version upgrades and virtualization projects from legacy control versions to current PCS 7 releases.
  •  Unify components from various PLC/DCS platforms (S7, ControlLogix, APACS) into consolidated PCS 7 or DeltaV architectures.
  •  Coordinate and perform installation, integration, and validation of cGMP instruments and data systems.
  •  Develop and execute IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, training materials, and SOPs for regulatory adherence.
  •  Deploy GAMP4compliant programs for lifecycle management in pharmaceutical operations.
  •  Provide engineering and troubleshooting for biopharma & API production equipment in compliance with cGMP guidelines.
  •  Collaborate with QA, validation, and process teams to integrate automation solutions into workflows.

Requirements

  •  Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  •  Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Siemens PCS 7; experience with APACS, DeltaV, Wonderware, S7, ControlLogix; familiarity with network configurations and cybersecurity protocols.
  •  Experience: Minimum 7 years working on control system migrations, process control, factory automation, and cGMP environments.
  •  Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problemsolving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Advanced knowledge of Siemens PCS 7 and related automation systems.
  •  Specific experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, polymer, or food & beverage industries.
  •  Additional certifications in automation or project management.
