Position Title & Basic Details
Were looking for a Senior Instrument Engineer based in Houston, Texas. This is a Contract position requiring 8+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.
Overview
In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting the instrumentation engineering team by designing, evaluating, and optimizing instrumentation systems for pressure, flow, temperature, and level measurements. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in instrumentation systems and controls and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop instrumentation systems for pressure, flow, temperature, and level measurements.
- Conduct sizing and specification of valves, control valves, and associated equipment.
- Develop and review Cause and Effect diagrams, Control Narratives, and P&ID diagrams for accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Interpret and apply client specifications to ensure compliance and quality in designs.
- Create and review detailed Instrument Data Sheets to support project deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review and refine project documentation.
- Provide expert guidance on instrumentation selection, installation, and operational troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in valve and control valve sizing, instrumentation data sheet creation, P&ID reviews; familiarity with Cause and Effect diagram creation and Control Narratives is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years working in Midstream Oil and Gas instrumentation and controls.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong expertise in P&ID reviews, Cause and Effect diagram creation, and Control Narratives.
