Project Automation Area Lead - CUB (Central Utilities Building)
Position Title & Basic Details
Were looking for a Project Automation Area Lead based in Indianapolis, IN. This is a Contract position requiring 8+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
Overview
In this role, youll be responsible for the control system solution for an area within the CUB project, ensuring the solution is aligned with the overall program automation philosophy, standards, and user requirements. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in automation systems within the pharmaceutical industry and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical ownership for an area in a project
Define the S88 software structure and list for the area
Develop draft function design specifications for the area
Work with system integrators to finalize functional specifications
Participate in P&ID and control strategy reviews
- Work closely with the Project Technical Lead and System Integrator to deliver the project on schedule and budget
- Collaborate with program technical offices to align automation solutions with overall program philosophy and standards
Ensure consistency of automation deliverables in the area
Assist in defining software components to be created or modified
- Communicate progress, issues, and needs to the automation technical lead
- Provide input, review, and approve functional requirements and specifications
- Develop and partner with the selected System Integrator to create computer system validation deliverables
- Secure vendor documents for skidded equipment to integrate with validation deliverables
Respond to system integrator technical queries
Identify any remediation effort required on process control software
Assist the System Integrator in implementing system architecture
- Create items in the issue tracker as issues arise after software acceptance
Identify and analyze risks of technical nature and plan responses
Maintain compliance with training requirements
Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs; strong knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, and computer system validation principles.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years working in Automation in the Pharmaceutical Industry, preferably in API/bulk manufacturing, with previous experience in a Central Utilities Building.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork abilities, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Pharmaceutical Automation Large Project/Program experience
Strong background in central utilities building automation
Additional certifications in automation or related fields
