Position Title & Basic Details
Were looking for an Instrument Engineering Manager based in Houston, Texas. This is a Contract position requiring 15+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Engineering is strongly preferred.

Overview
In this role, you'll be responsible for leading and supporting the instrumentation engineering team, overseeing instrumentation design, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving project execution. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in instrumentation systems and controls and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the instrumentation engineering team, providing technical oversight and mentorship.
• Oversee the design, evaluation, and optimization of instrumentation systems for pressure, flow, temperature, and level measurements.
• Manage the sizing and specification of valves, control valves, and associated equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and approve Cause and Effect diagrams, Control Narratives, and P&ID diagrams to maintain alignment with project goals.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry regulations, and best practices in all instrumentation designs.
• Develop and standardize Instrument Data Sheets to support project deliverables and streamline documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, driving coordination and integration of instrumentation solutions across projects.
• Provide strategic direction for instrumentation selection, installation, and operational troubleshooting, ensuring project success.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources related to instrumentation engineering activities.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in instrumentation systems, controls, valve sizing, P&ID reviews; familiarity with Cause and Effect diagrams and Control Narratives is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years working in Midstream Oil and Gas instrumentation and controls, with at least 8 years in a leadership or management role.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in valve and control valve sizing, instrumentation data sheet development, and client spec reviews.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices for instrumentation engineering.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams while driving project success.
