Position Title & Basic Details
Were looking for a Contract Automation Engineer based in Boston, MA or New York, NY. This is a contract position requiring 5+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.

Overview

In this role, youll be responsible for supporting the migration of legacy Foxboro control systems to Rockwell and DeltaV platforms. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in Foxboro systems and thrives in a regulated life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support migration of Foxboro control systems to Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix/PlantPAx) and Emerson DeltaV.
- Participate in two separate migration projects, potentially at different lifecycle stages.
- Perform system assessment and migration planning.
- Develop and modify control logic, HMI/graphics, and system configurations.
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during migration and cutover.
- Collaborate with client engineering, validation, and IT teams as required.
- Provide documentation aligned with project deliverables.

Requirements

- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Technical Expertise: Recent Foxboro DCS experience (mandatory); strong understanding of DCS/PLC architectures and industrial control systems.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years working on control system migrations in regulated environments.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, Studio 5000, PlantPAx) and Emerson DeltaV.
- Experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Biotech environments.
- Familiarity with GxP environments and validation practices.
- Prior experience working in hybrid remote/onsite project models.
