We're looking for a Controls Engineer based in [State]. This is a Contract position requiring 3–7 years of relevant experience. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.

Overview

In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting testing, commissioning, and integration activities across industrial and data center facility projects. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in PLC and HMI systems and thrives in a hands-on, field-forward environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform loop checks, instrument calibrations, and point-to-point verification on field instruments and control devices.
- Commission and configure PLC systems (Allen-Bradley required; Siemens or equivalent a plus) in accordance with project specifications.
- Develop, review, and execute test procedures for HMI systems and SCADA integrations.
- Collaborate with project engineers, electrical teams, and client representatives during startup activities.
- Document and resolve punch list items through final system acceptance.
- Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project safety requirements.
- Communicate technical issues clearly and escalate as appropriate.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley required; Siemens or similar a plus); familiarity with HMI development (Ignition preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3–7 years working on industrial, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure projects.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
- Data center MEP or BMS commissioning experience is a plus.
