About the Role

We are looking for an Exhibition Designer responsible for delivering exhibition designs from initial concept through to detailed, build‑ready specifications. The role combines creative concept development with technical design documentation to ensure exhibition solutions are innovative, commercially viable, compliant, and executed to a high standard.

The role works closely with sales, design leadership, production, and installation teams to ensure design intent is maintained from client brief through to delivery, while meeting budget, safety, and program requirements.

What you'll be working on:

Concept Design & Creative Development

  • Developing exhibition concepts including spatial layouts, creative themes and 3D visuals

  • Translating client requirements, brand guidelines and strategic objectives into compelling design solutions

  • Considering customer experience, functionality and commercial viability during concept development

  • Ensuring concepts are achievable and suitable for progression to detailed specification and construction

Technical Design & Specifications

  • Producing detailed technical drawings and specifications including materials, dimensions, finishes and construction details

  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, Work Health & Safety requirements and manufacturing constraints

  • Co-ordinating with production teams, suppliers, contractors and engineers to validate constructability

  • Updating specifications throughout the project lifecycle to reflect approved changes

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Working closely with sales, project managers and design leaders to interpret briefs, budgets and timelines

  • Supporting concept and design presentations, providing clear design rationale

  • Incorporating client and stakeholder feedback while maintaining design integrity

Project Delivery Support

  • Managing own design workload across multiple projects concurrently

  • Identifying and resolving design, technical or constructability issues proactively

  • Assisting with site inspections and quality checks as required

  • Ensuring effective handover of documentation to production and installation teams

Design Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintaining a high level of design accuracy, documentation quality and attention to detail

  • Ensuring consistency with DisplayWise and Creative Hire brand and design standards

  • Staying current with exhibition design trends, materials and technologies

  • Contributing ideas and improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and competitiveness

Customer Service

  • Working collaboratively with all departments required to ensure that projects are delivered to the high quality expected by the customer

  • Maintaining communication with departments throughout the projects

  • Assisting in resolution of customer concerns

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant experience in Exhibition design, trade shows booth or event management

  • Strong understanding of space planning, materials, lighting, fabrication techniques and construction details.

  • Ability to interpret design and develop creative solutions

  • Knowledge of exhibition booths, construction, modular systems and display fabrication is a plus!

  • Strong communication, presentation, coordination, and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
