About the job General Manager
Are you an experienced, commercially minded leader seeking a senior role in the fire protection industry? This pivotal opportunity is for someone who thrives on leading people, driving performance, and overseeing service, maintenance, and project delivery. You will manage a leadership team of up to eight divisional managers and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business.
This role suits a manager of people who enjoys accountability, influence, and commercial ownership. You will be supported by an engaged leadership group while having the autonomy to run operations, build capability, and deliver results.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with revenue growth and operational excellence.
- Identify new business opportunities and support major bids and client relationships.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across service delivery, maintenance, and projects.
- Manage financial performance including Profit & Loss, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with fire protection codes, safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop up to eight divisional managers and their teams.
- Drive recruitment, performance management, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish KPIs and monitor performance across service, sales, and compliance.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership and adapt strategies based on performance and market conditions.
About You
- Proven leadership experience within the fire protection industry preferred, with consideration given to building services or similar sectors.
- Strong people leadership capability with experience managing managers.
- Commercially astute with demonstrated Profit & Loss and budgeting experience.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
- Strong understanding of service delivery, compliance, and operational risk.
- Clear communicator with the ability to influence internally and externally.
- Must have full Australian work rights without any restrictions.
