Operations Accountant (Remote)

 Job Description:

Cordatus Resource Group is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Accountant to manage financial records, invoicing, and back-office operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor client project time budgets, identify at-risk overruns, and convert team timesheets into client-specific invoices using project accounting software (e.g., BQE CORE, QuickBooks)
  • Maintain accurate financial records through weekly journal entries, monthly bank reconciliations, and monthly cash-based financial reviews
  • Prepare and present financial reports to leadership and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash-based analysis
  • Ensure timely payment of vendors/contractors and follow up professionally on AR balances exceeding 60 days
  • Create and manage recurring accounting processes using checklists and calendars for structure and consistency
  • Organize and maintain detailed client billing guides, project codes, and compliance with unique billing structures
  • Collaborate with 3rd-party IT vendors to onboard new employees and support laptop provisioning and periodic asset inventory
  • Manage back-office operations, including contract renewals, system credentials, vendor directories, and support guides
  • Identify process improvements, maintain well-documented SOPs, and proactively resolve issues in financial and operational functions
  • Support the COO and Client Services Delivery team with client budget setup, operational tasks, and quality control of timekeeping

Job Specifications:

  • 35 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, ideally for a small business (cash-based accounting preferred)
  • Educational background: MBA (Finance) or ACCA qualified from a reputable institution
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft O365 (Teams & SharePoint), and project management/timekeeping tools like ClickUp, Monday.com, Basecamp, or BQE CORE.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and operate effectively in a remote, U.S. time-zone environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a drive to understand the objectives behind tasks, not just follow instructions
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and a high degree of professionalism
  • Comfortable thinking critically, solving problems, and documenting work in a structured, repeatable way
