About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading enterprise technology organization, is seeking a Senior Ontology Business Consultant to design and evolve a privacy-focused semantic model that supports regulatory, audit, and compliance initiatives.
This role is ideal for an experienced Ontologist / Knowledge Graph Engineer / Semantic Data Modeler who thrives at the intersection of business consulting and advanced semantic technologies.
You will translate complex business and regulatory requirements into scalable enterprise ontologies that power dashboards, APIs, and data-driven decision-making across large-scale systems.
Key Responsibilities

Design and evolve enterprise-grade ontologies and knowledge graphs focused on privacy and compliance

Translate business and regulatory requirements into actionable semantic models

Define validation rules and constraints aligned with audit and compliance standards

Architect ingestion patterns integrating multiple source systems

Write and optimize advanced SPARQL queries
-
Implement reasoning, inference, and performance tuning within graph databases
-
Manage ontology lifecycle, including versioning and change management
-
Ensure semantic models are consumable by dashboards (Power BI), APIs, web applications, and audit exports
-
Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver scalable solutions
Required Qualifications

10+ years of total IT experience
-
8+ years of business consulting experience
-
10+ years designing and evolving enterprise ontologies or knowledge graphs

Strong hands-on expertise in:

RDF
-
OWL
-
SHACL
-
Advanced SPARQL query writing and optimization

Hands-on experience with Stardog (preferred) or GraphDB / Blazegraph / Neptune
-
Experience managing ontology versioning, lifecycle governance, and change control
-
Proven ability to align semantic models with regulatory and audit requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have

Exposure to Machine Learning / AI / Gen AI tools

Experience with Cognos Data Integration

Background in privacy, compliance, or regulated environments
