We are recruiting on behalf of a leading enterprise technology organization seeking a GitHub Copilot Lead to drive large-scale adoption of AI-assisted development across legacy and modern systems.
This role is ideal for a senior technical leader experienced in Generative AI, developer tooling, and enterprise software environments who can guide teams through transformation initiatives and improve engineering productivity using AI.
About the Role
You will lead the strategy, rollout, and enablement of GitHub Copilot and related AI tools across multiple engineering teams. The role focuses on adoption in environments with significant legacy codebases including Java, .NET, and C/C++.
You will work closely with engineering leaders, architects, and developers to implement best practices, measure outcomes, and build scalable frameworks for AI-assisted development.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategy for GitHub Copilot adoption across engineering teams

Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity and code quality using AI tools

Lead end-to-end implementation of Copilot features and custom agents

Define and track adoption metrics and KPIs

Work with stakeholders to support change management and developer enablement

Design and deliver training programs for engineering teams

Provide technical leadership in environments with legacy systems and modern architectures

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications
Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in technical leadership roles

Strong hands-on experience with Java, .NET, and C/C++ environments

Proven experience implementing or leading GitHub Copilot or similar Generative AI tools

Experience applying Generative AI in business or engineering environments (7+ years preferred)

Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA
Preferred Qualifications
