Duties
- Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and hands-on experimentation to drive innovation in medical device development.
- Design, build, and test prototypes to explore new concepts and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and clinical) to bring ideas from concept to production.
- Document research findings, technical specifications, and compliance materials in accordance with FDA and ISO standards.
- Apply problem-solving skills to identify process inefficiencies and engineer practical solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into product development cycles.
- Contribute to all phases of product life cycle ideation, development, testing, validation, and launch.
- Assist technicians hands-on when needed, bridging theoretical and practical engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; Masters preferred (PhD not required).
- 5+ years of experience in R&D engineering with proven impact on product or process development.
- Familiarity with Mathematica or other scientific programming tools is preferred, but not required.
- Strong background in real-world engineering problem solving and systems-level thinking.
- Skilled in using tools such as calipers, gauges, mills, lathes, and CNC machines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Adaptability to a fast-changing environment and a willingness to take initiative and ownership.
- Must be fully on-site with no travel required.
