Structural Engineer (Buildings / Infrastructure / Industrial Structures)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead the analysis, design, and evaluation of structural systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring structural safety, stability, durability, and code compliance across all phases of design and construction.
The Senior Structural Engineer serves as a technical authority, collaborating with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions from concept through construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Design & Technical Leadership
Lead the structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, and composite structures
Develop safe, efficient, and economical structural systems for buildings and infrastructure
Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and design methodologies
Ensure compliance with local building codes, seismic standards, wind load requirements, and international codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes)
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafting teams
Support value engineering and optimization of structural systems and materials
Structural Analysis & Engineering Calculations
Perform advanced structural analysis using industry-standard software
Evaluate loads including dead, live, seismic, wind, thermal, and environmental effects
Design structural components such as beams, columns, slabs, foundations, retaining walls, and frames
Assess structural integrity of existing buildings and propose strengthening or retrofitting solutions
Conduct peer reviews of structural designs and calculations for accuracy and compliance
Construction Support & Site Coordination
Provide technical support during construction phases to ensure design intent is properly executed
Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor proposals
Conduct site inspections to verify structural works and resolve on-site engineering issues
Collaborate with contractors and project teams to address design changes and field conditions
Ensure structural works comply with approved drawings and specifications
BIM & Multidisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate structural systems with architectural, civil, and MEP disciplines
Participate in BIM coordination meetings and clash detection reviews
Develop and manage structural models using AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and BIM platforms
Ensure integration of structural design within overall building systems
Resolve design conflicts during planning and construction stages
Materials, Safety & Compliance
Ensure structural designs meet safety factors and regulatory requirements
Review material specifications for concrete, steel, reinforcement, and composites
Apply relevant design standards (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocode, or local equivalents)
Ensure durability, serviceability, and resilience of structural systems
Support QA/QC processes and structural safety audits
Documentation & Project Delivery
Prepare structural design reports, calculations, specifications, and BOQs
Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, and revision records
Assist in preparation of tender documents and technical proposals
Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and design guidelines
Support project delivery from concept design through construction completion
Requirements:
5–10+ years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Strong knowledge of structural mechanics, material behavior, and load analysis
Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro)
Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design principles
Knowledge of international building codes and structural standards
Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
Licensed Structural or Civil Engineer (depending on jurisdiction)
Experience in seismic design and high-rise building projects
Familiarity with BIM workflows and Revit Structure
Knowledge of structural retrofitting, rehabilitation, and forensic engineering
Experience in infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels, or towers
Exposure to construction project management and site supervision
Strong background in peer review and independent design verification
Experience working in fast-paced consulting or contractor environments
