Role Overview
We are seeking an Accountant to manage financial records and ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in financial reporting. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and contributes to reliable financial data used for business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately code and post cash receipts to the appropriate general ledger accounts
Prepare monthly cash receipts and related payables reports
Reconcile and balance cash receipts to ensure accuracy
Assist with the annual financial audit as needed
Prepare and post journal entries, including cost allocations, grant activity, and monthly accruals
Conduct annual physical inventory of fixed assets and maintain the fixed asset tracking system
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry (5+ years preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong experience with billing and invoicing processes
Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable, collections, and Accounts Payable processing
Working knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and revenue recognition (percentage of completion) in accordance with GAAP
Ability to work part-time during standard business hours to support client needs
Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus, but not required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with accounting software, including familiarity with QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Effective communication and problem-solving skills across departments
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive, professional attitude
