Surgical Nurse (Part-Time) with CQC Knowledge - London
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Surgical Nurse with knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations to join our fast-paced healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in providing excellent patient care and have a strong understanding of the CQC standards and guidelines. This part-time role requires a commitment to 1-2 Saturdays a month.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of the operating room and patients for surgery
- Provide pre-and post-operative care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and adhere to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a high standard of patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including surgical notes and medication administration
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards and guidelines throughout all aspects of patient care
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in nursing and CQC regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to address any concerns or questions
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
- In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and guidelines
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work 1-2 Saturdays a month
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with nursing best practices
