We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Surgical Nurse with knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations to join our fast-paced healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in providing excellent patient care and have a strong understanding of the CQC standards and guidelines. This part-time role requires a commitment to 1-2 Saturdays a month.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the operating room and patients for surgery
• Provide pre-and post-operative care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and adhere to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a high standard of patient care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including surgical notes and medication administration
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards and guidelines throughout all aspects of patient care
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in nursing and CQC regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to address any concerns or questions

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
• In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and guidelines
• Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work 1-2 Saturdays a month
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with nursing best practices
