Role Purpose & Success Outcomes

The Advocacy Manager leads EuroCham's advocacy strategy and execution, ensuring that the organization effectively represents the interests of its members to Vietnamese and European authorities.

Success looks like:

  • The Whitebook is published and launched successfully with broad participation and positive visibility.
  • Sector Committees are well-coordinated, active, and demonstrate measurable engagement and satisfaction.
  • Advocacy initiatives deliver timely, high-quality outputs and clear impact on business and regulatory outcomes.
  • Internal management and communication processes are efficient and collaborative across offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and continually improve EuroCham's advocacy strategy in alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Oversee and support the operation of all Sector Committees, ensuring coordination, quality, and alignment of priorities.
  • Edit and manage the annual Whitebook publication and coordinate related launch events and briefings.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives, position papers, and stakeholder engagement activities with local and European authorities.
  • Collaborate with the EU Delegation, EU-Vietnam Business Council, and other key institutions on trade and policy issues.
  • Organize and support advocacy-related events in coordination with the Events teams in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate the Sector Committee Coordinators, Assistants, and Interns.
  • Support the Board of Directors and Executive Director in advocacy, external relations, and governance tasks.
  • Monitor advocacy performance and recommend improvements to enhance impact and member satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Vietnamese authorities, the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the EU-Vietnam Business Council, sector committee leaders, member companies, and relevant media representatives.

Must-Have Requirements

Non-Negotiables

  • Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or Business.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing projects or cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in English and a native speaker of Vietnamese.
  • Availability to travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (1-2 trips per month).

Required

  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or government relations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Experience working with chambers, associations, or public-private organizations.

  • Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of international or European trade law.
  • Familiarity with the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and related institutions.
  • Experience in CSR or public affairs within Vietnam or the EU contexts.
