Job Description:
As a Wiper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the ship's engine room and machinery. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel. Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and maintaining engine room machinery, including pumps, motors, and generators
- Assisting with the maintenance and repair of equipment
- Conducting routine inspections and reporting any issues to the engineering team
- Performing general housekeeping duties in the engine room and other areas of the ship
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of supplies and equipment
- Following all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or other senior crew members.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. You must be able to work as part of a team and follow instructions effectively. Previous experience in a similar role or in the maritime industry is preferred but not required.
