Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical and theoretical bakery training covering bread, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods suitable for maritime hospitality environments.

  • Develop and implement training modules, lesson plans, and assessments tailored to the needs of trainees.

  • Mentor trainees on baking techniques, presentation, and quality control.

  • Evaluate trainee performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to ensure skill development and competence.

  • Ensure compliance with maritime food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with other trainers to maintain a structured, high-quality training environment.

  • Foster a positive, professional, and motivating atmosphere that encourages learning and teamwork.

  • Act as a role model for professionalism, creativity, and excellence in baking within a maritime setting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a professional Baker or Pastry Chef, with expertise in a variety of baking techniques.

  • Relevant baking or culinary qualifications/certifications.

  • Certified South African ID and must be based in Cape Town.

  • Strong communication, mentorship, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to teach both practical and theoretical concepts in a training environment.

  • Passion for teaching and developing the next generation of maritime culinary professionals.

  • Knowledge of maritime culinary standards is an advantage.
