We are seeking a General Insurance Accountant to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of essential accounting functions related to insurance transactions. Below is a summary of the core duties. Please note that responsibilities may evolve over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including secure workflows and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities related to insurance transactions, such as premium collections, remittances, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for premiums, reconcile discrepancies as needed, and record bank transactions.
  • Utilize QuickBooks to process transactions, maintain records, and generate financial reports.
  • Keep accounts receivables and payables up-to-date.
  • Assist with the processing and reconciliation of various insurance premiums and commissions.
  • Compile and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and regulatory filings.
  • Draft correspondence and assist with budgeting, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and insurance industry standards, ensuring compliance.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of general ledger experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 1 Certification.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with QuickBooks (Familiarity with EPIC Insurance program is a plus).
