Position Summary
Are you an analytical growth marketer who thrives at the intersection of online retail, software-as-a-service, and Shopify? We are searching for an autonomous Performance Marketing Lead to overhaul and direct our growth strategy starting on Day 1.
In this position, you will take charge of our paid acquisition channels (spanning Google, LinkedIn, Shopify, and Content Syndication) to acquire high-converting B2B prospects and drive installations across our suite of Shopify applications. You will design structured marketing systems, execute data-backed experiments, and pave the way to assemble and lead your own marketing unit within the next 1 to 2 years.
Core Responsibilities
- Multi-Channel Strategy & Execution: Oversee, scale, and refine paid campaigns on Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Shopify Ads, and Content Syndication networks.
- Acquisition & Conversion: Guide qualified B2B prospects to our Shopify App Store listings, turning casual interest into active installs and long-term client value.
- Operational Systems: Design well-documented, repeatable workflows with clear metrics and transferrable playbooks.
- Experimental Growth: Use an evidence-backed approach—hypothesizing, testing, analyzing, and continually optimizing campaign efficiency.
- Analytics Architecture: Set up precise measurement frameworks and visual tracking dashboards utilizing GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, or equivalent tools.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with Product and Success teams to support new feature rollouts, upsells, and cross-promotions.
- Leadership Pipeline: Lay the structural groundwork to recruit, train, and manage a dedicated marketing team within 12 to 24 months.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- Track Record: 5+ years in performance marketing (ideally 4–7 years) managing multi-channel paid acquisition within e-commerce, B2B SaaS, or the Shopify ecosystem.

- Metric-Driven Mindset: Mastery of growth metrics (CAC, CPL, ROAS, conversion percentages, traffic volume) with an emphasis on data-backed choices.
- Systemic Approach: Ability to establish scalable frameworks rather than simply executing ad-hoc tasks.
- MarTech Proficiency: Experience using CRMs and automation suites (e.g., HubSpot) along with tracking tools (GA4, GTM, Looker Studio).
- Fluency: Fluent or C2-level mastery of German to engage the DACH target audience effectively.
- Remote Competency: High autonomy, self-discipline, and strong accountability working asynchronously.
- Travel: Ability to attend two in-person team offsites each year (2–3 days per event).
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct background marketing apps inside the Shopify App Store.
- Familiarity with Product Marketing, Lifecycle Management, or Customer Marketing.
