We're looking for an experienced specialist with strong proficiency in French and English to join our client's role as a Team Leader in Compliance Control & Risk Management for a major European banking group known for its strong regulatory culture, international footprint, and high standards in risk governance.

This is a role for someone who enjoys structure, accountability, and leading people in an environment where precision really matters. You'll be guiding a team at the heart of compliance control activities, helping ensure that processes are not only respected—but continuously strengthened.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Work model: On-site first month, then hybrid (50/50) once fully autonomous
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Languages: English & French (C1/C2+ required)
Salary: €33,780 – €35,400/year (gross)
Meal allowance: €12/day, net, via meal card

What you'll be doing:

You'll be leading a team that sits close to the core of compliance operations, making sure risks are properly identified, controlled, and followed through.

Day to day, this means:

  • Leading and supporting a CCRM team in their missions
  • Overseeing control processes and ensuring they are consistently applied
  • Identifying, assessing, and tracking operational and regulatory risks
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to reinforce compliance standards
  • Preparing clear reporting for management on risk and control topics
  • Supporting audits and regulatory reviews when needed
  • Helping improve how things are done—not just keeping them running
What we're looking for:
  • Solid experience in Compliance Control and Risk Management (CCRM is essential)
  • Previous experience managing or leading a team
  • Strong command of English and French (C1/C2- level required)
  • Good understanding of banking compliance, internal controls, and risk frameworks
  • Someone structured, reliable, and comfortable working in a regulated environment
  • A leadership style that is clear, calm, and collaborative
What you can expect:
  • A competitive salary package within €33,780–€35,400
  • €12 daily meal allowance (net, via meal card)
  • A well-structured onboarding period with close support
  • The chance to grow inside a major European financial institution
  • A hybrid model once you're fully up to speed (50% remote)
  • A role where your work genuinely impacts control and governance quality
Working setup:

You'll start fully on-site in Lisbon for your first month to get fully embedded in the team and processes. Once you're comfortable and autonomous, you'll move into a hybrid rhythm that offers more flexibility.
