Role Overview

As an IT Specialist – Data Migration, you will work closely with project managers and developers to deliver end-to-end migration projects for enterprise customers. You will adapt the company’s proprietary migration tool to customer environments, analyze complex system landscapes, and ensure high-quality, reliable migrations.

This role offers high autonomy, technical depth, and direct impact on real customer projects.

Location & Working Model

  • Location: Karlsruhe, Germany

  • Working model: Hybrid (up to 3 days home office per week)

  • Travel: Approximately two short customer training trips per year within Germany (company car provided)

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt and configure the in-house data migration software to customer-specific requirements

  • Analyze customer systems, interfaces, and data structures (IST analysis)

  • Plan, implement, test, and deliver data and document migration projects end-to-end

  • Perform data analysis to identify errors and optimize migration processes

  • Prepare documentation and ensure quality assurance

  • Conduct customer trainings and product workshops

  • Provide 2nd-level support and collaborate closely with project management and development teams

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-have requirements:

  • Strong experience with Linux-based environments and shell-based workflows

  • Scripting skills (e.g. ShellScript, JavaScript)

  • Solid SQL knowledge and understanding of relational databases

  • Experience with Git or other version control systems

  • German language level C1 or higher, confident in customer communication

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured working style

  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support and guide others

Nice-to-have:

  • Previous experience in data, document, or archive migration projects

  • Additional programming or scripting languages

  • Exposure to archive systems or DMS platforms

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant IT role

  • University degree is not required

  • Hands-on experience and problem-solving skills are valued over formal education

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €50,000 – €65,000 gross per year (depending on experience)

  • Bonus: Individual year-end bonus

  • Contract: Permanent, unlimited contract

  • Working hours: 40 hours/week with flexible scheduling (part-time possible)

  • Vacation: Starting from 26 days per year
