We are thrilled to bring to market a fantastic new opportunity for an Assistant Tax Manager to join a leading Law Firm with offices across Scotland, on a full-time permanent basis.
Our client manages all Tax planning and Legal matters for entrepreneurs, businesses, charities and trustees.

Role Purpose
Based at our clients office in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, you will ensure all Tax Returns and other relevant information are prepared and submitted in line with HMRC rules and regulations whilst also managing client relations whilst maintaining the profitability of all Tax compliance work.
We are looking to speak with candidates who possess strong prior experience in a similar role, ideally ATT/CTA qualified.
Role Responsibilities
Prepare and submit annual Tax returns for Executors and Trustees
Agree all tax liabilities ensuring they are completed within HMRC rules and regulations
Provide advice on the mitigation of all Tax liabilities
Organisation of all client Tax affairs
Ensure all internal records are updated
Gather information from clients and draft Tax Returns
Prepare all schedules of investment income ensuring all records are updated
Complete Capital Gains Tax calculations
Ensure all documents sent to clients are on brand and complete
Liaise with HMRC in connection to Tax matters
Ensure client payments are received
Maintain all records
Review client affairs annually, advising on matters
Maintain your knowledge of key Tax legislation, rules and regulations
Assist the Tax Manager in running of the department, mentoring junior team members and acting as leader in Tax Managers absence
Ad hoc matters to support the department
Key skills
Experience in a similar role, ideally within a Legal or Accountancy firm
ATT or CTA Qualified, desirable
Strong knowledge and background in Personal Tax, Income Tax
Knowledge of Capital Gains Tax matters
Tax experience in Trusts and Executries
Excellent knowledge of Tax systems such as CCH
MS Office knowledge, Word and Excel
First class communication skills both written and verbal
A strong planner, highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks
Strong stakeholder management skills both internal and external
Highly motivated, willing to go above and beyond
Strong attention to detail and highly organised
Excellent problem-solving skills
Knowledge of MS Office applications
Flexible and adaptable to change
Confidential and discreet
