The Role
Serve as the 24/7 first line of defense for our network, monitoring the health and performance of our submarine cable system and national backbone from our Network Operations Centre.
About CTL,E.P.
Cabos de Timor-Leste (CTL), E.P. is the state-owned enterprise of Timor-Leste entrusted with the critical mandate of managing and operating the nation's international submarine cable infrastructure and domestic terrestrial backbone network. CTL's primary function is to provide reliable wholesale internet bandwidth to internet service providers (ISPs) and mobile network operators within the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 monitoring and first-line support for the national network and subsea cable system;
- Respond to network alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues;
- Manage and update incident tickets and maintain accurate shift logs;
- Execute standard operating procedures for network maintenance and changes;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and partner fault reports;
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or relevant field;
- Understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, BGP) and/or optical transmission systems;
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift rotation;
- Strong problem-solving skills and calm demeanor under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills in Tetum;
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
