About CTL,E.P.
Cabos de Timor-Leste (CTL), E.P. is the state-owned enterprise of Timor-Leste entrusted with the critical mandate of managing and operating the nation's international submarine cable infrastructure and domestic terrestrial backbone network. CTL's primary function is to provide reliable wholesale internet bandwidth to internet service providers (ISPs) and mobile network operators within the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the submarine cable terminal and national DWDM network;
- Provision, test, and troubleshoot high-capacity wavelength and Ethernet services;
- Monitor optical performance metrics (OSNR, BER) and perform capacity upgrades;
- Work with our cable partners on maintenance and fault resolution;
- Maintain documentation for the optical network architecture;
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or relevant field;
- Hands-on experience with DWDM/OTN systems (ASN, Infinera, Ciena, etc.);
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic principles, testing, and troubleshooting;
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift rotation;
- Experience in a telecom carrier or wholesale provider environment preferred;
- Strong problem-solving skills and methodical approach to work;
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
