About CTL,E.P.
Cabos de Timor-Leste (CTL), E.P. is the state-owned enterprise of Timor-Leste entrusted with the critical mandate of managing and operating the nation's international submarine cable infrastructure and domestic terrestrial backbone network. CTL's primary function is to provide reliable wholesale internet bandwidth to internet service providers (ISPs) and mobile network operators within the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and equipment;
- Conduct fault location and fiber characterization using OTDR and power meters;
- Carry out tasks associated with incident tickets;
- Execute standard operating procedures for network maintenance and changes;
- Rack, stack, and cable network equipment at CLS and national PoPs;
- Manage field spares and test equipment inventory;
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Vocational training in Fiber Optics/Telecommunications, diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or relevant field;
- Proven experience in fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting;
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift rotation;
- Ability to travel nationally and work in various field conditions;
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks;
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivated work ethic.
