Physiotherapist

 Job Description:

Physiotherapist will be responsible for delivering high-quality physiotherapy services, managing a diverse caseload independently, and supporting rehabilitation outcomes through evidence-based assessment and treatment. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently assess, treat, and manage patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
  • Conduct initial assessments, reassessments, treatment progress reviews, and discharge planning.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans using sound clinical judgement.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and treatment records.
  • Participate in departmental projects, service development initiatives, and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants, and students.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in incident reporting, data collection, and maintenance of departmental statistics and reports.
  • Contribute to continuous professional development (CPD), peer learning, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support cross-coverage arrangements and work collaboratively within the rehabilitation team.
  • Recommend improvements to therapy programs and rehabilitation services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
  • Fully registered with AHPC and holding a valid practising certificate.
  • BCLS + AED certification.
  • Minimum 3–6 years of relevant physiotherapy experience in a hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting.
  • Community care or aged care experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and patient management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt interventions to meet individual patient needs.
  • Awareness of current healthcare, rehabilitation, and ageing-related practices and trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
