Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our Research and Development (R&D) and Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating new and innovative products, has a strong attention to detail, and is able to lead a team to success. As the Hands-On Head of R&D and Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product development, from ideation to launch. This is a hand-on role, ideal for someone who loves experimenting with recipes while maintaining high production standards.  

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the R&D team, providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

-Develop and test new recipes for cakes, pastries, bread, savory dishes and baked goods

-Improve existing products for quality, consistency, and efficiency

-Implement and maintain food safety and quality assurance standards 

-Conduct product testing and troubleshoot any issues in texture taste or shelf life

-Work closely with production team to ensure smooth execution

- Develop and implement a strategic plan for new product development, taking into consideration market trends and customer preferences

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Production, to ensure successful product launches

- Manage the entire product development process, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring all deadlines are met

- Oversee product testing and quality control to ensure all products meet company standards

- Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance in the market, making necessary adjustments and improvements as needed

- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and techniques into product development

- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on R&D progress and results

-Develop and document standardized recipes and procedures

-Research and incorporate new ingredients, techniques, and trends. 

-implement best practices for efficiency and scalability in production

-conduct regular testing and troubleshooting for products consistency

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or Bread and Pastry, with hands-on experience in R&D

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in product development, preferably in the food industry

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

- Excellent project management and organizational skills

- Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for food and product development

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and product development software
