Are you ready to elevate your accounting career? Currimjee Jeewanjee & Co. Ltd invites you to join our dynamic Accounting Shared Services Department as a Senior Accounting Associate. In this key role, you will ensure our department meets its objectives and SLA requirements through accurate and timely accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate Accounting Entries: Input all accounting entries accurately in the Accounting Software (Sun) to meet financial reporting requirements.
- Statutory Compliance: Prepare and monitor statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, NPF) and ensure timely submission.
- Monthly and Yearly Accounts: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and yearly financial statements.
- Budget and Forecasts: Contribute to the preparation of yearly budgets and forecasts.
- Group Reporting: Prepare and upload figures for group reporting in the required format.
- Financial Statements Filing: Process and file financial statements in XBRL format.
- Reconciliation and Review: Review the Trial Balance (TB) weekly to ensure completeness and accuracy of GL accounts. Perform bank, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Prepare schedules for external auditors and assist in responding to audit queries.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation and support for all accounting entries with appropriate evidence.
- Process Improvement: Review current processes to identify opportunities for digitalization.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders. Provide clarifications and promptly attend to queries.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other cognate duties
Profile
- ACCA level 2 or a Degree in Accounting with at least 2 years of experience in a related field.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of current accounting functions, software, and processes.
- Good communication skills.
