Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join an experienced engineering team responsible for a highly available hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premise and cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive automation initiatives, and contribute to infrastructure improvements and strategic technical decisions.

Job Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Cloud Management
- Hybrid Ecosystem: Manage and scale 200+ virtual servers across on-premise (VMware) and cloud (Microsoft Azure) environments.
- Virtualization: Administer VCenter, ESXi hosts, VSAN, and Dell storage arrays (VxRail/PowerStore).
- Azure Operations: Provision VMs, manage Storage Accounts, Entra ID (Azure AD) sync, and configure Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- SDLC Support: Build and maintain consistent DEV, UAT, and PROD environments to support developer efforts and SQL Server clusters.
Systems Operations & Automation
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, and ManageEngine to proactively ensure system health.
- Patching & Security: Execute monthly automated patch management and security hardening baselines to maintain compliance.
- Automation: Deploy software and client agents via PowerShell scripting and automated deployment tools.
- Identity Services: Manage Active Directory (AD), including GPO, DNS, DHCP, and schema upgrades.
Data Integrity & Continuity
- Disaster Recovery: Act as a key point of contact for DR failover testing and live emergency response.
- Backup Administration: Manage enterprise-wide backup solutions (Veeam) across M365 and cloud vaults, including archival to LTO tape.
- Root Cause Analysis: Review system logs to provide deep-dive analysis and permanent solutions for recurring issues.
Senior Level Additional Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Perform systems forecasting (storage, cloud compute, data center footprint) to accommodate future growth.
- Technical Leadership: Act as the lead for large-scale rollouts and complex migrations; mentor junior engineering staff.
- Business Analysis: Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, analyzing cost, risk, and feasibility.
- Escalation Lead: Serve as the Tier 3 point of contact for critical P1 outages and vendor coordination.
Key Competencies:
- Infrastructure Expertise: Deep understanding of hybrid environments, virtualization, and cloud platforms
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Ability to diagnose complex system issues and implement sustainable solutions
- Automation & Efficiency: Experience leveraging scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, CLI) to streamline operations
- Security Mindset: Knowledge of system hardening, vulnerability management, and secure infrastructure practices
- Collaboration & Communication: Effectively partners with cross-functional teams including network, security, and development
- Operational Excellence: Strong focus on uptime, system performance, and proactive monitoring
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving technologies and priorities
- Documentation & Organization: Maintains clear, thorough technical documentation and processes
Requirements:
- Sr. Systems Engineer: Bachelor's in Computer Science and a minimum of six (6) years of experience (or eight (8) years of equivalent experience).Collaborate with security and development teams to ensure infrastructure reliability and compliance.
- Core: VMware ESXi 8.0+ (Advanced), Windows Server 2022 (Advanced).
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Intermediate to Advanced).
- Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, Cisco, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Scripting: PowerShell or Azure CLI for automation.
- Microsoft Office: Advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Nice-to-Have:
- MCSE or Azure Solutions Architect Certification
