Job Description: Head of Beverage for Social Club New Opening in Hong Kong

Position Overview: A prestigious private members' club renowned for its exclusive experiences and exceptional service, is expanding its presence to Hong Kong. We are seeking a talented and passionate Head of Beverage to lead our beverage operations for the exciting new opening. As part of the family, you will play a pivotal role in curating an exceptional beverage program and creating memorable experiences for our discerning members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Beverage Program Development:
  • Curate an exceptional and diverse beverage program, including cocktails, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic options, tailored to the preferences and interests of our members.
  • Continuously research and explore the latest trends and innovations in the beverage industry to create a dynamic and unique offering.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, wineries, distilleries, and other industry partners to ensure access to high-quality and exclusive products.
  1. Team Leadership and Training:
  • Lead and inspire the beverage team, fostering a culture of excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to enhance the team's product knowledge, service skills, and overall expertise.
  • Create a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and creativity.
  1. Service Excellence:
  • Ensure exceptional beverage service standards are maintained throughout all outlets, bars, and events.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of beverage services with food offerings and overall member experiences.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality of beverages served, ensuring consistency, presentation, and taste exceed expectations.
  1. Inventory Management and Cost Control:
  • Oversee beverage inventory management, including stock levels, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to optimize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
  1. Member Engagement:
  • Interact with members, understanding their preferences, and providing personalized beverage recommendations and experiences.
  • Host tastings, masterclasses, and other beverage-related events to engage and educate members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head of Beverage or similar role in high-end hospitality establishments, private clubs, or fine dining restaurants.
  • In-depth knowledge and passion for a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic options.
  • Strong understanding of current industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with members, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to curate a beverage program and create memorable experiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of beverage pairing, cellar management, and beverage cost control.
  • Relevant certifications, such as WSET, sommelier qualifications, or mixology certifications, are highly desirable.
