About the Role
Were looking for a Senior Data Scientist with strong expertise in forecasting and predictive modeling to join a high-impact retail project. Youll help design, build, and test AI/ML-driven prototypes that support advanced demand forecasting and pricing decisions.
Your deep understanding of time series forecasting, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques will be key in solving real-world challenges for large-scale retail and CPG companies.
What Youll Be Doing
- Process and analyze structured and unstructured retail data to uncover trends and business insights.
- Design and implement advanced demand forecasting models using statistical and ML-based techniques.
- Apply forecasting strategies to real business problems such as inventory planning, pricing, and promotions.
- Build AI/ML prototypes and POCs that solve complex forecasting and planning challenges.
- Present insights through effective data visualization and storytelling.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to productionize forecasting models at scale.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in retail or CPG, with a proven track record in forecasting and demand planning.
- Strong command of time series and predictive modeling techniques, both classical and machine learning-based.
- Experience with forecasting libraries and tools in Python (e.g., statsmodels, Prophet, scikit-learn, Darts).
- Deep understanding of demand patterns, seasonality, and price elasticity, and how they impact business decisions.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, OOP) and SQL.
- Solid experience in prototyping, testing, and iterating on models in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate forecasting strategies and data insights to both technical and business audiences.
- Familiarity with scalable cloud environments and distributed systems.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for sequence modeling (e.g., RNNs, LSTMs).

Hands-on experience with big data tools like Spark or Databricks for large-scale forecasting.

UI prototyping using Flask, Plotly, or Streamlit.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows.
