User Migration Consultant

 Job Description:

We are seeking a User Migration Consultant to support the transition of enterprise telephony services to Microsoft Teams Operator Connect. This is a hands-on technical role focused on planning, coordinating and executing user and number migrations in a structured, scalable, and low-risk manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing telephony environments, including number inventories, routing logic, carrier allocations, and legacy voice infrastructure.
  • Identify discrepancies, dependencies, and potential migration risks across systems and vendors.
  • Consolidate and normalize data to support porting strategies, rollout sequencing, and vendor coordination.
  • Document number ownership, service classifications, and contractual details.
  • Prepare and validate porting documentation in alignment with carrier requirements.
  • Submit and track number porting requests, handling rejections and remediation cycles when necessary.
  • Coordinate with telecom providers regarding timelines, contractual obligations, and regulatory constraints.
  • Support pilot migrations and define fallback strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise telephony concepts, including DIDs, call routing, SIP, SBC behavior, PSTN fundamentals, and carrier porting processes
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Voice solutions, including Operator Connect and/or Direct Routing
  • Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, reconcile discrepancies, and structure technical inventories
  • Experience supporting phased migrations, cutover activities, and large-scale user transitions
  • Solid understanding of voice testing methodologies and validation processes
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to create structured, repeatable procedures
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a systematic and risk-aware approach to execution.
