Job Title: Windows System Administrator (Mid-Level)


Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid 1-2 days on-site / week)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Windows System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team in Bucharest. This mid-level position involves supporting and managing Windows-based systems, ensuring reliable operation, security, and performance of the IT environment. The role also includes working closely with internal teams to support users and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022)

  • Handle installation, configuration, updates, and upgrades of Windows systems and related components

  • Manage and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file and print services

  • Perform patch management and software deployment using tools such as SCCM or WSUS

  • Monitor server health and performance, and address performance bottlenecks proactively

  • Execute regular system backups and assist in disaster recovery planning and testing

  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve service requests

  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting

  • Support virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)

  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams on IT initiatives and system improvements

  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Windows system administration

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022)

  • Proficiency in Active Directory management and GPO implementation

  • PowerShell scripting experience for automation and administration

  • Knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

  • Familiarity with virtualization tools (VMware or Hyper-V)

  • Experience with backup and restore tools (Veeam, Commvault, or similar)

  • Patch and update management experience with SCCM, WSUS, or equivalent

  • Understanding of security principles and compliance standards

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud environments is a plus

Education and Certifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MS-102, AZ-104) are a strong advantage
