Cloud Engineer

Mission

We are looking for a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with proven experience in strategizing, designing, developing and deploying large-scale Cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in architecting and migrating applications, software, and services to the AWS cloud, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Work Type: Hybrid 2 days/week from the office
Location: Bucharest, Romania

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement optimal AWS-based solutions tailored to business needs.

• Define, document, and enforce best practices for cloud application deployment and infrastructure management.

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and thought leadership to development teams to enhance cloud expertise.

• Ensure application reliability, high performance, and maintainability through clean code and robust design.

• Manage AWS environments in line with organizational security and compliance standards.

• Lead development and deployment of AWS applications for data processing, modelling and analytics initiatives.

• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, apply fixes, and implement preventative solutions.

• Train and support teams in adopting cloud-based solutions and workflows.

• Proactively identify and solve technical issues to ensure smooth business operations.

• Plan, configure, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure.

• Implement access controls and auto-scaling strategies to meet dynamic load requirements.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning on AWS and GCP using IaaS solutions.

• Build and present Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new cloud initiatives.

• Communicate effectively with distributed teams across geographies.

• Design and operate secure, scalable AWS architectures and support cloud migration efforts.

• Develop cloud-native applications and optimize performance for AWS environments.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience designing, migrating, and implementing AWS cloud solutions.

• Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with core AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, DocumentDB, RDS (PostgreSQL).

• Proficient in DevOps tools and CI/CD workflows: GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory.

• Skilled in infrastructure-as-code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and automation scripting in Python.

• Familiarity with security protocols, logging/monitoring tools (e.g. ELK), and AWS cost optimization.

• Strong understanding of networking (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect), backup and disaster recovery strategies.

• Capable of building REST APIs and data apps using Python libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
