Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with strong experience in regulated environments to support mission-critical banking systems. This hybrid role, based in Bucharest, requires a proactive professional who can ensure the availability, security, and performance of Oracle databases while working closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor Oracle databases (12c/19c) in alignment with banking sector compliance, security, and audit requirements

  • Perform database tuning, incident resolution, and proactive monitoring to ensure system resilience and responsiveness for high-volume financial applications

  • Implement and manage high-availability configurations (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM) and disaster recovery processes in accordance with business continuity plans

  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, and application teams to enforce regulatory and security controls on sensitive data (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, Basel III)

  • Manage version upgrades, patching cycles, vulnerability remediation, and data masking practices

  • Automate recurring DBA tasks with scripting languages (Shell, Python, PL/SQL)

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for audits, reporting, and change management

  • Participate in infrastructure projects and core banking system migrations or upgrades

  • Ensure traceability of data movement, enforce least-privilege access, and support secure API/database interactions

  • Provide technical input during IT risk assessments, penetration tests, and business continuity exercises

  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical banking applications as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, preferably in banking or financial services

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c in production environments with high security and auditability standards

  • Advanced skills in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM

  • Deep understanding of financial transaction systems, high-throughput database workloads, and zero-downtime requirements

  • Experience with data encryption, fine-grained auditing, Oracle Label Security, and other database security frameworks

  • Proficient in Linux/Unix systems administration and shell scripting

  • Strong skills in PL/SQL, database performance tuning, and query optimization

  • Experience with change, release, and incident management processes in ITIL or COBIT environments

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical information clearly

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with core banking platforms and financial reporting systems

  • Experience with GoldenGate, Oracle Wallet, and external authentication integrations

  • Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud-based banking workloads

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification

  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, SWIFT CSP, or ECB regulations
