Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AIX System Administrator to join the Tribe Windows & Unix Services (PLSWUS) within the Platform Services domain. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, operation, and optimization of AIX-based system platforms. This includes managing small system changes, release upgrades, and full hardware refreshes while supporting enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and operate system platforms based on IBM AIX

  • Detect and resolve system issues and performance bottlenecks

  • Monitor availability, usage, and capacity across AIX infrastructure

  • Plan and coordinate software deployments, release transitions, and hardware refresh projects

  • Align client-facing activities with the responsible business and application teams

  • Create system documentation and operational handbooks

  • Conduct operational handovers to ensure service readiness

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification

  • Several years of experience in operating Unix/Linux-based applications in enterprise environments

  • Strong expertise in Unix-based server systems, particularly AIX

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as bash or ksh

  • Solid understanding of ITIL practices

  • Fluent German and professional English skills

  • Excellent teamwork and cooperation skills

  • Strong coordination and communication capabilities

  • Confident, flexible, and independent working style

  • Goal-driven and structured approach using both agile and traditional methods
