AI Architect

Role Overview:

• Take full ownership of the architecture behind Aveni's AI and agent-based platform, including how AI models are orchestrated, how intelligent agents operate, how safety controls are applied, and how multiple external AI providers integrate with proprietary models.
• Establish scalable architectural frameworks for the next generation of agentic solutions, such as AI-powered guidance agents and assurance systems for regulated financial processes, ensuring transparency, compliance, and reliability.
• Work closely with senior engineering teams to convert platform capabilities into robust product architectures, promoting standardization, efficiency, and reuse across all solutions.
• Serve as the lead AI solutions architect for enterprise clients by designing deployment architectures, facilitating technical workshops, and supporting pre-sales activities to enable confident adoption by large financial institutions.
• Collaborate with research and innovation teams to turn experimental concepts and technical evaluations into production-ready architecture, while partnering with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure strong observability and operational stability.
• Define and enforce AI architecture standards and governance across the company, contributing to the overall technical direction alongside the CTO and ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements within the UK financial sector.
• Maintain a forward-looking perspective on AI and agentic technologies, anticipating industry trends and evolving the platform architecture to meet future demands.

What We're Looking For:

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML development, with significant time spent in architectural roles across both platform and solution design.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in designing systems based on large language models (LLMs) and agentic architectures, with a focus on building scalable, secure, and dependable AI solutions beyond simple API usage.
• Proven experience working with enterprise clients in a solution or technical architecture capacity, including leading workshops, creating deployment designs, and engaging effectively with senior technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native and event-driven architectures, particularly on AWS, along with practical experience using Python and/or Node.js in AI-related projects.
• Knowledge of AI governance principles and regulatory frameworks, with a clear understanding of responsible AI practices in highly regulated industries.
• A forward-thinking mindset with a strong interest in emerging AI and agent-based technologies, and the ability to translate trends into actionable architectural strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of producing detailed technical documentation and clearly explaining complex architectural concepts to both internal teams and senior stakeholders.
