Solution Architect

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture assessment and technical optimization of the existing in-house web application and its supporting components.
  • Perform a comprehensive current-state architecture analysis, covering:
    • Application and system design
    • End-to-end data flows
    • Database structures
    • Integration points and interfaces
    • Application and infrastructure dependencies
  • Assess the existing technology landscape, including Angular, Java, Python Flask, Nginx, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), Oracle LRCF, and the associated data synchronization architecture.
  • Define the target solution architecture, including:
    • Logical and physical architecture
    • Component responsibilities and dependencies
    • Interfaces and integration patterns
    • Deployment architecture
    • Data and integration flows
  • Review existing architectural decisions and identify gaps, risks, technical debt, and deviations from architectural standards, providing actionable recommendations and mitigation strategies.
  • Review and recommend improvements to authentication and authorization mechanisms, leveraging OAuth 2.0, Azure AD, IAM roles, and FUN groups.
  • Ensure a clear separation between administrator and local-user capabilities through appropriate Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and authorization models.
  • Assess the automated synchronization of model-point data from the Oracle LRCF database to the QUASII database, including data flow, reliability, consistency, monitoring, and failure-handling mechanisms.
  • Define architectural solutions to support key non-functional requirements, including:
    • 24x7 availability and resilience
    • Responsive application performance
    • Scalability
    • Maintainability and supportability
    • Excel compatibility
    • Secure data processing and handling
  • Update and maintain the Solution Design Document (SDD), ensuring it includes:
    • Architecture views and diagrams
    • Integration architecture
    • NFRs and quality attributes
    • Architecture decisions and rationale
    • Dependencies and assumptions
    • Identified gaps and risks
    • Quality scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Development, Business, Security, IAM, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Architecture Governance stakeholders.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development and technical teams and ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.
