Jampack AI — Founding Engineer, Fullstack
Type: Full-time | Hybrid (Brooklyn, NY — WeWork; strong preference in-person most of the week) Compensation: $160,000–$220,000 + 0.1%–0.5% equity Hiring count: 1 Visa sponsorship: None available Reports to: Co-founders (works directly with the two co-founders daily)
About Jampack AI
Jampack AI is an AI-native platform automating the entire wholesale order-to-cash lifecycle for CPG brands — replacing spreadsheets, email chains, and manual data entry with autonomous workflows that span purchase-order ingestion, freight coordination, invoicing, and payment reconciliation. Wholesale is roughly 7x the size of e-commerce, yet the infrastructure is decades behind; Jampack is building the agentic operating system for it. The product is live with fast-growing CPG brands and has processed $500M+ in annualized wholesale volume.
Founded: 2026 | Team size: 1–10 (Seed) | Total funding: $3.2M seed Industry: AI Tools / wholesale & supply-chain automation Investors: Maveron (lead; co-founded by Howard Schultz), Timber Grove Ventures Website: jampack.ai Office: Brooklyn, NY Benefits: Health insurance, equity compensation
Why Candidates Should Join
- Real founding-engineer ownership: Own the core platform powering the AI agents and customer experience — talk to users, design, ship to production, and watch real customers use what you built. Works directly with the two co-founders every day.
- Live product, real traction: Already live with fast-growing CPG brands (Fishwife, Immi, Ghia, Path Water, Sanzo) and $500M+ in annualized wholesale volume, backed by a $3.2M seed led by Maveron.
- Greenfield market: Wholesale is ~7x e-commerce but stuck on 1990s infrastructure — a genuinely under-built market in which to define the agentic OS.

The Role
Jampack is hiring a Founding Full Stack Engineer to own the core platform powering its AI agents and customer experience. The moat isn't the model — it's the scaffolding: the software infrastructure that connects AI to real-world systems (ERPs, 3PLs, retailers, freight partners) with real-world reliability. Downtime means missed shipments and chargebacks for real brands, so the stakes — and the ownership — are real.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take customer-facing features from concept to production — talk to users, design the solution, build it, watch them use it
- Design secure, auditable data models and event-driven pipelines that power AI agent workflows
- Develop internal and external APIs and a real-time operator console giving customers full visibility into their operations
- Build first-party integrations with ERPs, 3PLs, retailers, and freight partners, plus a resilient sync layer that keeps everything in lockstep
- Establish observability, SLOs, and on-call practices for mission-critical workflows
- Work across the full stack — backend, data engineering, and frontend — wherever the highest-leverage problem lives
Also expected (from the role body, beyond the canonical Requirements card): runs vague feature ideas to production without waiting for specs; researches the right approach and chooses the simplest thing that works; "all-in" early-stage pace (not 9-to-5, not 996 — reachable when things break); clear, direct communicator who can translate non-technical customer workflows into software; low-ego and collaborative.
Tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, React (Supabase / Next.js a plus)
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally including time at a high-agency startup where you owned product work end-to-end
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, the core stack at Jampack
- Postgres for data modeling and query performance
- Full-stack capability, including React for customer-facing product surfaces
- Comfortable with event-driven patterns — webhooks, async workflows, integrations that keep external systems in sync
Green Flags
- Big-tech-then-startup arc. Left a FAANG or scaled company to join something early and shipped real product ownership there, not just feature work inside someone else's scope.
- Background in logistics, supply chain, freight, or CPG-adjacent software (Flexport is the clearest signal)
- Has built mission-critical backend systems where reliability and observability actually mattered, not just happy-path features
- Experience with AI agent infrastructure or event-driven pipelines in production
- Customer-facing engineering instinct: talks to users, cares equally about developer and operator experience, and uses that to make better product decisions
Red Flags
- Only big tech or FAANG experience with no evidence of operating without structure and defined scope
- Job hopper, short stints that did not result in anything shipped and meaningful
- Personal instability flagged from a prior hire
- Needs a task queue to be productive, this role requires someone who generates their own priorities
- Not willing to be in person in Brooklyn most of the week

Nice-to-Have (from role body — supplementary to the canonical Green Flags above)
- Prior founding engineer or early hire at a seed/Series A startup
- Background in logistics, supply chain, freight, CPG, or B2B SaaS
- EDI experience (SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, or similar) — Jampack is expanding into EDI
- Experience at Flexport or a comparable logistics-adjacent company
- Familiarity with Supabase, Next.js, or other modern BaaS stacks
- Hands-on work with AI agents, LLM tooling, or agentic workflows in production
