AfterQuery builds training data and evaluation infrastructure for frontier AI labs. The company works with leading AI organizations to create high-signal datasets and rigorous evaluation systems that go beyond static benchmarking. This is a small post-Series A company where individual contributors can materially shape product and GTM direction.

About the Role

This is a foundational outbound sales hire focused on selling into frontier AI labs and enterprise technical buyers. This is not a plug-into-playbook SDR seat. You will help define outbound strategy, ICP targeting, messaging, and early pipeline creation alongside the founding team — building the company's early sales motion from scratch.

What You'll Own

  • Own outbound prospecting across cold email, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and in-person events
  • Research and identify key contacts at frontier AI labs and enterprise prospects
  • Turn outbound activity into qualified pipeline and build warm conversations from cold outreach
  • Help define ICPs, messaging, and outbound sales motion
  • Develop product fluency around AI data infrastructure and measurable model improvement
  • Maintain CRM hygiene and outbound metrics
  • Help build the company's early sales motion from scratch

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of BDR, SDR, or outbound sales experience
  • Strong written communication — ability to write sharp, concise, highly credible cold outbound messaging
  • Technical literacy around AI/ML concepts — understanding of model training, evaluation, and data quality
  • Comfort with multi-channel outbound
  • Scrappy self-starter mentality
  • Comfortable in ambiguous early-stage environments
  • Ability to build without established playbooks

Target Backgrounds

Strong signals include experience selling to technical or R&D buyers, AI/ML/DaaS/B2B SaaS backgrounds, experience building outbound motions from scratch, personalized outbound for technical audiences, AI conference and meetup exposure, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and sequencing tool familiarity, strong technical curiosity, and a startup builder mentality.

  • High-volume templated outbound profiles
  • Weak written communication or no technical curiosity
  • Those uncomfortable with AI/ML concepts
  • Candidates who prefer highly structured sales orgs or rely on mature enterprise playbooks
