Account Manager — Warp

Location: New York City, NY (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Compensation: $106,700 – $180,800 OTE (70/30 split) + equity
Employment Type: Full-Time

About Warp

Warp is building autonomous employee operations infrastructure — payroll, tax compliance, benefits, IT, and HRIS management — with AI as the primary operating layer, not an add-on feature. A direct challenger to legacy platforms like ADP, Paylocity, and Paychex, Warp assumes full liability for payroll compliance without operating as a PEO.

Company metrics:

  • Processes hundreds of millions in payments
  • 1,000+ active companies
  • 5x+ year-over-year revenue growth for two consecutive years
  • 20%+ month-over-month growth currently
  • ~$25M+ raised — backed by Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, SV Angel, Homebrew Capital, Dropbox founders, and Replit founders
  • Team of ~40 in NYC, scaling toward 100

About the Role

This is Warp's first dedicated Account Manager hire — a true quota-carrying retention and expansion role, not traditional customer success. You'll own a multimillion-dollar book of 30–40 strategic accounts and have direct influence on building the AM function from scratch. Fintech experience strongly preferred.

What You'll Own

  • Own 30–40 strategic enterprise and mid-market accounts
  • Drive retention and expansion revenue (~50/50 split)
  • Own upsell and expansion cycles from opportunity creation through signed contract
  • Run executive-level QBRs
  • Identify churn risk and execute retention saves
  • Convert month-to-month customers to annual contracts
  • Partner with Product, Support, and Engineering on escalations
  • Help build the AM playbook from zero as the function scales

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years B2B account management or new business sales
  • Ideal progression: SDR/BDR → AE → Account Manager
  • Owned quota, retention, and expansion across a true book of business
  • Executive stakeholder communication and QBR ownership
  • Data-driven customer recommendations
  • Fintech experience strongly preferred
  • Willing to work onsite in NYC 5 days/week

Target Backgrounds

Strong signals include backgrounds from Ramp, Brex, Rippling, Mercury, and modern fintech SaaS — particularly AMs with closing muscle, expansion-heavy account ownership, early-stage startup GTM experience, and consistent quota overachievement.

This Role Is NOT For

  • Pure customer success profiles with no quota ownership
  • Ads or media AM backgrounds
  • Candidates with no fintech exposure
  • Pure AEs with zero AM retention experience
  • Remote-only candidates
