About the Role

This is a 2–6 year litigation associate role focused primarily on medical malpractice defense, with additional exposure to professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation. The position is hands-on early — with expectations to take depositions, appear in court, and manage case components independently within the first couple of years. This is not a support role; the firm is looking for an attorney who can own case work with increasing autonomy under strong mentorship.

Core Responsibilities

• Handle medical malpractice defense cases with increasing ownership
• Take depositions and manage court appearances
• Draft motions, briefs, discovery, and trial materials
• Communicate with clients and manage case progress
• Work toward independent case ownership

Requirements

• 2–6 years post-bar litigation experience
• Licensed in South Carolina
• Proven deposition and litigation workflow experience
• Strong legal writing and research skills
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Greenville

• Strong fit: Insurance defense, med mal, or regional firm litigation background
• Acceptable: Plaintiff-side personal injury or med mal experience
• Must demonstrate hands-on litigation execution — not just support work

Compensation & Incentives
