About the job General Accountant/Bookkeeper
The role of the General Accountant/Bookkeeper involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the clients. The successful candidate will work closely with the Australian team and manage the day-to-day payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Prepare spreadsheets with customer information ensuring data ranges are accurate and it is in the correct format
- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances using the accounting software, Xero
- Prepare the payment for vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
- Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions, historical records, and general ledger
- Reconcile entries into the accounting system
- Potentially work on payroll computation and release on a certain payout date.
- Maintain the trial balance, by the reconciliation of general ledger
- Monitor any variances from the projected budget
- Setting up new customers in all our internal systems (including Accounting Software and internal documents and systems)
- Liaising with our customer service team and customers accordingly to exchange information
- Answering customer account queries
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Accounting and Finance, preferably with AU clients
- Preferably with 3-5 years of solid exposure in bookkeeping
- Great English Communication - spoken and written
- Understand the Accounting process from end to end
- Able to find information themselves and are experts in using Microsoft applications or Excel and its formulas.
- Competent in working with multiple software systems. Highly prefer a candidate with experience in using Xero or any relevant accounting software.
- Experience working in a multi-client environment and meeting compliance deadlines
- Must be a good team player
- Must be able to manage sensitive client information
