Patent Agent

A career in our Intellectual Property Department will provide you with the opportunity to use your skills and training to deliver high quality patent services to our Hong Kong and international clients. Our team comprises highly professional and experienced IP lawyers working together with Patent Agents/Attorneys, paralegals and executives.

Responsibilities

As a Patent Agent, you will work as part of a team of Patent Attorneys/Agents to address our clients patent needs. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Handle all aspects of patent and design work, from original drafting of high quality specifications, prosecution and advising on freedom to operate and enforcement issues
• Provide strategic advice for patent and design portfolios for a variety of clients including SME's, university and listed entities
• Draft and respond to client communications and Patent Office communications

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher technical qualification; preferably in mechanical engineering or electronic engineering
• Admission as a Patent Agent/Attorney in a recognised jurisdiction
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in an established firm, candidates with more experience will also be considered
• Good organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and patent system knowledge
• Service-oriented and team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Self-motivated and quick learner
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience in managing, meeting and delivering high quality work by time critical deadlines
