About the job Program Manager

My client has an opportunity for a Program Manager in Rainsville, AL, with a background in plastic injection molding to successfully enhance new project launches and contribute to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate should understand Plastics/Process knowledge and is an expert in managing, coordinating, and developing all activities, both internally and externally, with customers and suppliers. They will be responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating, mentoring, and monitoring assigned engineering projects. Responsibilities:

Lead a small engineering team for mold development at the Alabama location

Conduct feasibility for new injection molds

Feedback part design concerns to the design department as they are identified through feasibility studies

Complete final mold specifications for release of suppliers to design mold and cut steel

Conduct mold design reviews and ensure adherence to company engineering specifications

Conduct developmental injection mold trials:

  • Evaluate mold performance for adherence to internal quality and engineering specifications
  • Troubleshoot molding concerns and advise on the corrective action needed

Identify opportunities for part and mold designs that improve appearance, part dimensional capabilities, or process cycle time

Lead internal document creation and management à regular review of status with department management and program management teams

Conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal personnel

Mentor and coach site staff through regular feedback and company performance evaluations

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is preferred, or four years of equivalent experience

Skills/Requirements:

Experience in Injection Molding preferred

Experience with automotive development preferred

Positive thinking and energetic

Strong analytical ability

Understanding of engineering principles

Mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot

Strong attention to detail and organization skills

Self-motivated in both an independent and team environment

Proven leadership with strong communication skills

Computer skills (Microsoft Office software, 3D software (preferred))

Overtime (flexibility and on short notice)

Travel domestically (up to 5%) and internationally
