SAP Senior Consultant Technical (Business Warehouse)

Role Overview

A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced SAP Senior Technical Consultant (BW) to join their SAP delivery team on a fixed-term contract. The consultant will work independently, applying strong SAP BW/BW4HANA expertise to deliver business-critical data, reporting, and analytics solutions.

The role includes systems analysis, solution architecture, data modelling, development, troubleshooting, and production support. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define priorities, and deliver end-to-end SAP BW solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and prioritise delivery.

  • Perform systems analysis, solution design, technical development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support within SAP BW4HANA.

  • Develop BW data models following SAP Layered Scalable Architecture (LSA++) best practices.

  • Build and maintain BW objects including extractors, DSOs/ADSOs, InfoCubes, Composite Providers, and Open Hub destinations.

  • Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, query structures, and reporting layers.

  • Build, enhance, and troubleshoot complex Process Chains for automated data loads.

  • Monitor and support data loads, resolve load failures, and ensure stable data availability.

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards using SAP front-end tools.

  • Prepare technical documentation, follow governance standards, and support production environments.

Technical Requirements

Core SAP BW Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW4HANA development.

  • Solid understanding of LSA++ data warehouse architecture.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining the following:

    • BW Extractors

    • Master Data & Hierarchies

    • DSOs / ADSOs

    • InfoCubes

    • Composite Providers

    • Open Hub Extracts

  • Deep knowledge of data extraction, modelling, and query design.

  • Proven ability to build and manage complex Process Chains.

BI Tools (Advantageous)

  • SAP Web Intelligence

  • SAP Analysis for Office (Excel)

  • SAP Lumira Designer

Additional Skills

  • Strong background in monitoring and supporting data load jobs.

  • Experience troubleshooting ETL flows and resolving data inconsistencies.

  • Exposure to integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems is beneficial.
