Role Overview
The Business Analyst will work within the Payments Technology environment, supporting the delivery of payment-related initiatives with a strong focus on DebiCheck, collections, and payment processing. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, delivery leads, and technical teams to translate complex payment requirements into clear, actionable specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for payments initiatives.
- Work extensively within the DebiCheck ecosystem, including mandate management, authentication flows, collections, amendments, suspensions, and cancellations.
- Analyse end-to-end payment processing flows, including integrations with internal banking systems and external payment service providers.
- Produce high-quality artefacts such as:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Specifications
- Process flows and journey maps
- Data mappings and interface specifications
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements to clarify requirements and drive alignment.
- Support Agile delivery by contributing to:
- Backlog refinement
- User story creation with clear acceptance criteria
- Sprint planning and reviews
- Work closely with developers, QA, and architects to ensure correct interpretation and delivery of requirements.
- Support testing activities, including UAT preparation, defect triage, and solution validation.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, compliance, and banking standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong, hands-on experience with DebiCheck (mandatory).
- Solid understanding of payment processing, collections, debit orders, and transaction lifecycles.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a delivery team.
Nice-to-Have / Advantageous
- Experience within retail banking environments.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance considerations in payments.
- Familiarity with integration-heavy environments and APIs.
