People Operations Analyst
Job Description:
We are looking for dynamic and detail-orientated HR Ops Analyst to join our Human Resources team as a permanently employed team member. This role will help us scale a high-performing, data-driven HR function. This role sits at the intersection of people data, technology, and process excellence, and is critical to unlocking operational efficiency, delivering actionable workforce insights, and enhancing the employee experience. You will own and optimize our people systems, ensure clean and reliable data, build insightful dashboards for business and HR leaders, and lead improvements across our core HR processes from onboarding to offboarding, performance tracking to payroll support. What Will You Do?
As a HR Ops Analyst, you will be a pivotal member of the HR team responsible for streamlining systems, interpreting people data, and driving process improvements. Your blend of operational agility, systems knowledge and analytical mindset will help elevate both the HR experience and business outcomes.
Key Responsibility:
1. People Systems & Process Ownership
- Manage and maintain HRIS, ATS, and related systems.
- Drive enhancements, integrations, and system adoption.
- Build and document SOPs, user guides, and process flows.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to resolve system issues.
- Incorporate and improve all systems and processes based on automation, technology and innovation.
2. People Data & Reporting
- Develop and maintain HR dashboards (headcount, attrition, diversity, etc.).
- Conduct data audits and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports for People and Business leaders.
- Translate trends into actionable insights.
- Drive the generating of impactful data insights to business based on analysis and innovation.
3. HR Process Excellence
- Own and improve onboarding, offboarding, and change processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate and digitize manual workflows.
- Ensure process efficiency and SLA compliance.
- Support documentation and change management for new rollouts.
- Actively reduce administrative burden through automation of repeat activities.
4. Employee Experience & Engagement Support
- Administer surveys and feedback channels (e.g. engagement, onboarding).
- Analyze results and contribute to employee experience initiatives.
- Track key metrics related to culture, satisfaction, and retention.
5. Payroll & Benefits Coordination
- Act as support and back-up for payroll processing.
- Maintain alignment between payroll, HR, and benefit systems.
- Assist with benefit fund administration and compliance.
6. Policy, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure alignment with labor regulations and compliance standards.
- Maintain digital policy records and flag risks or gaps.
- Support audit readiness and legislative reporting.
7. Operational Projects & Office Support
- Lead or contribute to HR digitization, system upgrade, or compliance projects.
- Provide general HR Ops and admin support for Cape Town office.

- 98%+ data accuracy across HR systems
- 100% of process documentation up-to-date
- Dashboards delivered on time, monthly or quarterly
- Survey response and insights turnaround within 7 days
- SLA compliance across onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle processes
- At least 2 recurring manual processes automated annually
- Stakeholder satisfaction rating of 4/5 on operational support
Qualifications
- Human Resources diploma/degree, Business Administration, or related field would be advantageous.
Who do you need to be:
- 35 years in People Ops, HR, or HR systems/data analysis roles (or 23 years in highly analytical data-oriented HR environments).
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query).
- Proven experience in an administrative environment.
- Experience using Power BI or reporting tools.
- Familiarity with workflow automation (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier).
- Experience supporting multi-region HR teams.
- Exposure to fast-paced, tech-enabled environments.
- 2-3 Years payroll experience desirable
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially in Excel (intermediate to advanced).
