Junior Payroll Accountant
Job Description:
We are looking for a Junior Payroll Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for an early-career finance professional who is looking to develop their expertise in payroll accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will support the management of payroll accounting, maintain accurate financial records for the holding company, assist with budgeting and forecasting, prepare statutory submissions, and contribute to the monthly and annual financial reporting process. Working closely with the Finance and Human Resources teams, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and payroll activities while building a strong foundation for your career in finance.

What Will You Do?
Key Responsibility:
- Maintain the monthly accounting records for the holding company, including recharge invoices and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Prepare payment packs for the holding company, including relevant supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly and annual balance sheet reconciliations for the holding company
- Prepare and maintain monthly payroll allocation calculations
- Assist with the analysis and interpretation of group payroll information
- Assist with the forecasting and budgeting of group employees
- Prepare the monthly EMP submission to SARS
- Assist in the preparation of annual B-BBEE submission documents
- Assist with statutory requirements, e.g. preparation of resolutions and minutes.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing relevant documentation.
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide ad-hoc support to various members of the finance and human resources teams
Who Do You Need to Be?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
- Strong accounting, analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with payroll systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced excel skills preferred).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective planning, organisational and time-management skills
